Silent Film with Live Music: “The Gold Rush”

“The Gold Rush” (1925) starring Charlie Chaplin; The Rex Theatre, 23 Amherst St., Manchester, N.H.; (603) 574-4826. The Little Tramp prospects in the Klondike in Chaplin’s silent comedy epic. Full of classic laugh-out-loud sequences and heartfelt drama. Scenes include Chaplin’s famous Thanksgiving Dinner made out of a shoe, the bun dance, and a scene where Chaplin’s hungry cabin mate imagines the Little Tramp as a succulent chicken.
