Seconds Out: A Tribute to the Music of Genesis is a five-piece band from Long Island, NY that focuses on both the Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel eras. Founded in 2023, they strive to play faithfully not only the more rock-driven songs (and some pop hits!) under Phil Collins’ term, but the rich and complex musical pieces from the Peter Gabriel era as well. The band was formed in 2021 from a collection of vibrant musicians who met through their love of music. Influences include Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Toots and the Maytals, Sly and Robbie and many more Reggae greats. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses Roots Reggae with Pop music, splashed with 3-part harmonies that make you want to get up and dance. Guitarist G.E. Smith is known for his work with Bob Dylan, Hall & Oates, David Bowie, just to start. Smith also led the Saturday Night Live band for 10 years. Pianist/Vocalist Jeff Kazee is the longtime band leader and producer for Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, and has worked with Bon Jovi, Dar Williams, Steve Kimock band among others. Smith and Kazee will be performing a genre-jumping inspired setlist—Blues, Country, Rock & Roll—covering their favorite songs and even a few originals from their respective solo albums.
