Contemporary Vocal Performance & Technique

Students will have the opportunity to explore their voices through contemporary techniques, enhance their performance skills for both the stage and auditions and learn tools to successfully choose material to grow their repertoire book. This class will experiment with style, groove, movement and emotional storytelling in both contemporary/pop and musical theater idioms. Be ready to expand your knowledge and love of singing and performing, while gaining confidence through exploring your own artistry!  You will complete this course with the performance of a song in either contemporary pop or musical theater genre.

How do you Sing that? Understanding Sheet Music/Music Theory 101

Do Re Mi, and all the notes in between! Together we will learn different techniques to analyze and deconstruct sheet music; using music fundamentals such as solfege & music theory, and of course our voices! These techniques will enhance the singer’s knowledge & understanding of sheet music and support their overall growth and confidence with music.

In this fun and engaging class, elementary students of all theatre experience levels will learn foundational acting skills through improv and acting games. Monologues: Power of the Solo Performance

Prepping for college auditions? Trying to add some monologues to your book? Unsure of where to look and what would work best for you? Music and Movement with Miss Alli

Our goal is to introduce our youngest performers to theatre in a sensory-based, baby-friendly setting.  Join our Parent and Baby class for a nurturing experience that supports both you and your little one. This engaging class offers a blend of sensory activities, gentle movement, and family-friendly music designed to stimulate your child’s development while providing a relaxed environment for parents to connect and share experiences. Scene to Song

Showcase: Tuesday, December 3 at 7pm

Our Dance Studio is a comprehensive dance school welcoming students from ages 3 to adult. Over the course of our 12-week sessions, dancers will master technique and choreography in jazz, tap, contemporary, and beyond!

Fall Session classes for our 2024 season will culminate in a student showcase on Tuesday, December 3 at the Palace Theatre. Not all classes will perform in the showcase, please take note of the class descriptions.

Intro to Dance

3, 4 and 5-year-olds

This class is all about introducing our youngest students to the fun world of dance! These classes are divided into several short activities, focusing on creative movement and fun! This is a great introduction to flexibility, dance class etiquette, and friendly cooperation with classmates. This kind of creative self-expression is an important part of developmental growth and the confidence and discipline they will gain will stay with them as they explore the world outside our classroom! Class will culminate in a short choreographed performance in a student showcase at the end of each session. Please note that all dancers must be potty trained before joining.

Getting to Know Theatre Dance

Welcome to our Getting to Know Theatre Dance class, designed especially for young dancers in grades 1-5 who are eager to explore the exciting world of performance through tap and jazz techniques! This class is crafted to ignite a passion for creative movement while nurturing foundational skills crucial for aspiring theater dancers. In this 12-week session, students will learn basic tap techniques focusing on rhythm, coordination, and musicality. In the jazz portion of the class, students will delve into energetic movements, emphasizing flexibility, strength, and stylistic expression. Our Getting to Know Theatre Dance class fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where each child can thrive. We encourage creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore their unique talents while developing teamwork and collaboration skills. Hip-Hop will focus on a grounded style similar to commercial, jazz-funk, and street dance. These classes will culminate in a choreographed routine to be performed in a student showcase at the end of each session.

At our Vocal Studio, we provide personalized monthly vocal coaching sessions with seasoned professionals. Each coaching offers a unique opportunity to learn from accomplished performers who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to help you enhance your vocal skills and reach your full potential.

Coachings are for students in Grades 2-12 and are $30 per half hour.  All payments are due at the time of booking, and all coachings are non-refundable.

The Palace Academy offers private piano lessons each month specifically designed for beginners. Our experienced instructors are committed to guiding new students through the fundamentals, ensuring a strong foundation and a rewarding start to their musical journey.
