Improv and Acting Games I
In this fun and engaging class, elementary students of all theatre experience levels will learn foundational acting skills through improv and acting games. Through a variety of activities, students will develop their creativity, confidence, and help them find their voice both on and off stage. Dive into the world of improv and have a blast with your friends and peers as you learn about the basics of improv and explore new skills. Whether you’re a seasoned stage performer or a complete newbie, this class is for you!
This class culminates in a showcase at 5pm on Friday, November 1.

Improv and Acting Games II
Do you like to make people laugh? Do you want to work with your castmates to create funny moments? Are you interested in exploring and growing your creative skills? Then this is for you! Improv and theatre Games II is a fun and challenging course designed to help students develop their improv and theatre skills. Students will get to participate in improv and theatre games and exercises that will help them develop their creativity and problem-solving skills while helping them become stronger performers. Theatre performers of all skill levels are welcome!
This class culminates in a showcase at 5pm on Friday, November 1.

Mini Camp Musical
Join us for an unforgettable mini camp as we create a one-act musical together! In these 90-minute weekly sessions, you’ll be an integral part of the entire creative process, from brainstorming interesting characters to crafting entertaining plot points, all while cultivating your creative chops and teamwork skills. As the weeks progress, you’ll transform ordinary objects into props, design eye-catching posters, and develop costume plots to bring your story to life! The culmination of your creative endeavors will be a show-stopping performance that will have your friends and family giving you a standing ovation. Scene to Song
Unleash your inner Broadway star and delve into the captivating world of musical theatre with our immersive workshop. Under the guidance of experienced musical theatre professionals, you’ll join a dynamic group of performers to explore a diverse repertoire of scenes and musical numbers from renowned musicals. You will dive into character development, movement and vocal choices, and at the end have 1-3 different scenes and songs to put into your repertoire. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a budding enthusiast, this workshop will provide you with the opportunity to refine your musical theatre skills and discover new facets of your artistry. As the workshop culminates, you’ll take center stage in a showcase performance, proudly presenting the scenes and musical numbers you’ve mastered throughout the session.

Scene Study
Prepare to delve into the depths of character development, emotional exploration, and captivating storytelling with our immersive Scene Study Workshop, designed specifically for students in grades 6-12. Mystery Theatre: Solve the Case!
Students will engage in interactive mystery scenarios where they act as detectives solving staged mysteries. This class focuses on improvisation, character interaction, and plot development, making for an exciting and engaging theatrical experience.

Monologues: Power of the Solo Performance
Prepping for college auditions? Trying to add some monologues to your book? Unsure of where to look and what would work best for you? In this class you will learn about the art of finding, preparing, and perfecting your monologues to show off your unique talents and abilities. Students will focus on mastering the art of delivering powerful monologues. They explore various monologue styles, from classic to contemporary, and work on techniques to engage audiences with solo performances, emphasizing emotional impact and personal connection.  Take the stress and pressure off of you and Google and come away with great resources and skills to add to your toolbox.

Broadway Babies

Our goal is to introduce our youngest performers (0-2) to theatre in a sensory-based, baby-friendly setting. Join our Parent and Baby class for a nurturing experience that supports both you and your little one. This engaging class offers a blend of sensory activities, gentle movement, and bonding exercises designed to stimulate your baby’s development while providing a relaxed environment for parents to connect and share experiences. Perfect for new parents looking to enrich their baby’s early months and build a supportive community.

Dance

Showcase: Tuesday, December 3 at 7pm

Our Dance Studio is a comprehensive dance school welcoming students from ages 3 to adult. Over the course of our 12-week sessions, dancers will master technique and choreography in jazz, tap, contemporary, and beyond!

Fall Session classes for our 2024 season will culminate in a student showcase on Tuesday, December 3 at the Palace Theatre. Not all classes will perform in the showcase, please take note of the class descriptions.

Intro to Dance

3, 4 and 5-year-olds

This class is all about introducing our youngest students to the fun world of dance! These classes are divided into several short activities, focusing on creative movement and fun! This is a great introduction to flexibility, dance class etiquette, and friendly cooperation with classmates. This kind of creative self-expression is an important part of developmental growth and the confidence and discipline they will gain will stay with them as they explore the world outside our classroom! Class will culminate in a short choreographed performance in a student showcase at the end of each session. Please note that all dancers must be potty trained before joining.

*NEW* Getting to Know Theatre Dance

Welcome to our brand new Getting to Know Theatre Dance class, designed especially for young dancers in grades 1-5 who are eager to explore the exciting world of performance through tap and jazz techniques! This class is crafted to ignite a passion for creative movement while nurturing foundational skills crucial for aspiring theater dancers. In this 12-week session, students will learn basic tap techniques focusing on rhythm, coordination, and musicality. In the jazz portion of the class, students will delve into energetic movements, emphasizing flexibility, strength, and stylistic expression. Our Getting to Know Theatre Dance class fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where each child can thrive. We encourage creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore their unique talents while developing teamwork and collaboration skills. This class culminates in a Showcase performance, where dancers will perform one tap and one jazz routine onstage at the Palace!

Hip-Hop Classes
We are happy to offer multiple levels of Hip-Hop for dancers in grades 4-12. These classes will offer dancers an opportunity to train in one of the most cutting-edge styles of dance, often seen on screens and stages around the world. Hip-Hop will focus on a grounded style similar to commercial, jazz-funk, and street dance. These classes will culminate in a choreographed routine to be performed in a student showcase at the end of each session.

Contemporary Classes

These classes will offer dancers an opportunity to train in one of the most cutting-edge styles of dance, often seen on screens and stages around the world. Contemporary is an extension of ballet, with emotional qualities and strong storytelling elements. These classes will culminate in a choreographed routine to be performed in a student showcase at the end of each session.

Our Level 1 dancers are on the beginner side of their dance training, our Level 2 dancers are more intermediate, and our Level 3 classes are geared towards our most advanced students. Tap classes will focus on rhythm and musicality, technique, and well-rounded tap skills. Jazz classes will focus on skill-building appropriate to each level, and learning how to be a versatile and adaptable dancer and performer. Dance Technique will have an emphasis on building foundational ballet technique as well as jazz technique with an emphasis on musicality and strength. Each class is geared towards building technique, learning choreography, and pushing our students to be the best dancers they can be! Tap and Jazz classes will culminate in a choreographed routine to be performed in a student showcase at the end of each session.

Sing

At our Vocal Studio, we provide personalized monthly vocal coaching sessions with seasoned professionals. Each coaching offers a unique opportunity to learn from accomplished performers who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to help you enhance your vocal skills and reach your full potential.

Coachings are for students in Grades 2-12 and are $30 per half hour.  All payments are due at the time of booking, and all coachings are non-refundable.

Play

The Palace Academy offers private piano lessons each month specifically designed for beginners. Our experienced instructors are committed to guiding new students through the fundamentals, ensuring a strong foundation and a rewarding start to their musical journey.

Lessons are for students in Grades 1-12 and are $30 per half hour.  All payments are due at the time of booking, and all lessons are non-refundable.
